Jolly Phonics - Ink on inky 'Ii'

One of our Jolly Phonics groups worked on the 'Ii' sound.
We wrote some 3 letter words that had the 'i' sound in the middle.

Do you know that the letter 'i' is a vowel.
The other vowels are a, e, o, u and sometimes y.
There is a vowel in every word.

We are learning to identify numbers

We love playing the fly swat game to help us identify numbers.
We are put in two different teams and Miss Brown calls out a number. It is a race to swat the number first.
We are getting really good at quickly finding numbers. Some of us can identify numbers up to 100!

Te Reo Maori - Feelings

We are learning about feelings in Te Reo Maori and how to say them.
Today we learnt about four words:

  • Pai - Good
  • Hiakai - Hungry
  • Mauiui - Sick
  • Pouri - Sad
We matched these feelings to their words.

Kei te pehea koe? - How are you feeling?
