We made some bubble art to go with our wonderful writing all about the amazing Science in a van visitors. 

They taught us about mixtures!

Jolly Phonics - 'ng' sound

Today the Jolly Phonics sound that one of our groups focused on was 'ng'.

We did some dictation and wrote lots of words that have the 'ng' sound in them.

We are also working hard to form our letters correctly.

Week 5 with Hinni Hero

Hinni Hero had lots of fun in Room 2 this week! Have a look at what Hinni Hero got up to with Room 2's VIP's...

He did cross country running, drawing, played eggy words on the iPads, read some stories and did some beautiful printing.

Casey's new puppy

In the holidays Casey and her family got a new puppy.

It is a chocolate Labrador and her name is Sophie. 
Casey's Mum brought Sophie in for a visit.

We asked lots of questions about how to look after a pet. We know that they need food, a warm bed, some toys to play with and lots of love.
Sophie loved our shoes and our bags!

Show some kindness

This week our Hinni kid value is kindness/manaakitanga. Mr Mac showed us a video to help us learn about kindness.

We talked about how we show kindness to others and wrote some stories about this.

Mathletics winners!

This week Room 2 was the winning class for Mathletics at Hinuera School!

Everyone in Room 2 got their certificates.

Well done to Jennifer, Lachlan, Aiden and Corey who got silver certificates, and Emily for getting her very first mathletics certificate!

This week lots of people in Room 2 got their first Mathletics certificate.

We worked very hard to do lots of number activities to get these.

Congratulations to Logan who got over 5000 points!
