Crazy Hair Day!

Today was Crazy Hair Day!

We got to be creative and make our hairstyle as crazy as we could! 

We donated some money to help support a former Hinni kid and his family.

Some people put bright colours like green, blue, red and yellow and glitter in their hair. Others made their hair really spiky or put lots of hair ties in. We also had some crazy hats as well! 

We got to show our awesome hairstyles to the whole school in a parade.

What an exciting day! Thanks to all our parents and family that helped us with our crazy hair.

Swimming Superstars

Room 2 have started swimming.

We look forward to swimming every afternoon and are learning lots of new things.

 

We are learning how to get in and out of the pool safely.

We are also learning how to blow bubbles!

Today we are learning the sight word Mum.

We can read this word and write it as well! 

Our awesome assembly

Today was our turn to share our amazing learning with our school and our families.

We shared about International Communities which has been one of our topic focuses this term. We shared about Hawaii, which included wonderful writing, our creative art turtles and one of our favourite jump jam songs.

Miss Brown was so proud of how well we did!

International Communities Day

Today the whole of Hinuera School went to different classes to learn about other country. It was very special.
We learnt about countries like Japan, India, Kenya, Italy, Egypt, Mexico, Vietnam and the Netherlands.

We did activities like art that helped us learn some similarities and differences.

Scotland Scones

Today we learnt about Scotland and made Scones!
They were yummy scrummy!

 
This is how we made them:
1) We got the ingredients like flour and water and milk.
2) We put the ingredients in a bowl and stirred it up to mix it together.
3) Then we put it on the oven tray and rolled it with a rolling pin
4) Next we put it in the oven to cook.
5) Lastly we ate them! Yum!
