Frost!

It is winter time now and we have noticed how cold it has been each morning.

This week we have had lots of frosts! We went on a frost hunt around the school. 

After our frost hunt we talked lots about what it looked like, felt like, sounded like and smelt like. We then wrote some stories about the frost!

Autumn Leaf Hunt

Today we went for an Autumn leaf hunt.

We found lots of leaves that had changed colour and had fallen to the ground!

We had lots of discussions around what the leaves looked like and how they felt.

Sight words

We are learning to read and write lots of sight words. Shay made some of the words he knows with the letter bricks and read them in literacy time.

Ink on inky

We are learning about the letter i and the sound that it makes - 'i'

These words have an 'i' sound in them:

ink, inky, igloo, Izzy, Tahlia, brick, ship, lips and Indian. Patricia has 2 i's in her name!

Making 10

Today in maths some of the clever cookies in Room 2 were looking at the different ways we can add numbers up to 10. We used the numicon shapes to help us.

Hiwi the Kiwi

Today the we had the Hiwi the Kiwi show at school. We learnt all about safe fishing and making sure we fish for our future.

We know that we do not take small fish because we need to let them grow. We also shouldn't take big fish because they might have babies.

We loved the songs and actions.
