Our Little Garden

Today we planted our Little Garden.

We each got a different seed to plant.

We had to measure the water and pour it on our soil tablet. Then we watched the soil grow. Next we put most of the soil in our pot and put the seed mat on top. Then we put the last bit of soil on top. Last we put our sign in.

 We will need to watch our plant and water it each day!

Term 4!

We had a great start to Term 4 and are already well underway in our learning!

We loved coming back to read books today!

Book Character Dress Up Day

Today was Book Character Dress Up Day.

We came to school in some amazing costumes. 

We really enjoyed showing our costumes to the school in a parade and did some awesome writing about the book characters we were dressed up as.

The money donated to our dress up day went towards the sponsor child that Hinuera School supports.

Music!

Look at what we were doing in music time today. We had lots of fun using the drums!

We are learning to read and write lots of sight words.

In writing time we are encouraged to find the words that we know and write them in our stories.

Today Tayla wrote a super story!

She is learning to sound out and stretch words and is also learning to use finger spaces in her writing.

Here is her story:

'I have a baby lamb and it was called Rosemary. The baby lamb was fluffy and it was cute. I am going to bring it to Ag Day'

Exploring Shapes

For maths we have been learning about Geometry - Shape.

Today we were exploring shapes. We named shapes, did some shape sorting and looked at how many sides and corners different shapes had.

We also made some shapes and some shape pictures.
